Pledges to continue to work for all of North Meath

“I’m shocked and disappointed by the recommended changes to the Meath
East constituency boundary” stated the new Minister for European
Affairs and Meath East T.D. since 2013 Helen McEntee.

“Meath Hill, Drumconrath, Ardagh, Carrickleck, Kilmainhamwood,
Tierworker and parts of Cormeen, Nobber and Syddan will now, come the
next election, be voting in the Cavan/Monaghan constituency. This once
again shows a complete disregard for county boundaries and also means
that parts of Meath will be now voting with parts of Ulster. I will be
highlighting this breach of County and Provincial boundaries to the
Minister and members of the Boundary Commission, this should not have
happened and needs to rectified in future boundary revisions” she
said.

“I’m personally devastated to be losing an area that is very close to
my heart. I will continue to represent these areas where I have built
up many strong working relationships. These are areas which I have
received great support from over the past few years. It will make the
battle to keep a T.D. in North Meath and a 2nd Fine Gael Meath East
very challenging in the next General Election. I will be redoubling my
efforts along with my team in preparation for that election” concluded
Minister McEntee.
